Default Driver side seat question

I just picked up a 92 SC300 5-speed a couple weeks ago. I love the car, but it has one annoying problem that I could not find the answer to in the archives. The driver's side seatback seems to move ever so slightly when driving the car. The seatback rocks forward when applying brakes, then back again when accelerating. I noticed from the maintenance records the previous owner gave me that he complained of the same thing when the car was in for its first service way back in 1992, but the dealer said they could not find a problem. Has anyone else had this problem with their driver side seat?

TIA

yes, my 92 does the exact same thing. I have noticed that if you raise the seat to its very top position, it wont do it anymore. Unfortunately, being 6'1", its not feasible for the seat to remain in this position. At least, not in the winter...

There is one post about this if you use the search feature, but it didnt read as if it were the same problem. If anyone knows what the hell to do about this, PLEASE spill it! Its the one thing about my car that drives me nuts!

It happens on my 93 too - I notice in the Maintenance section of the service manual, it says "tighten the front seat mounting bolts to 27 ft-lb." Anybody tried this?

it is not related to the mounting bolts, it seems related to the hinge assembly.

Yeah I can't figure out where the looseness in mine is coming from. Sometimes it feels like the seatback/hinge mechanism and other times it feels like the slide mechanism for the seat bottom. Today I tried screwing around with every seating position imaginable & finally found a spot where it does not rock. The seat is all the way at the bottom, with the front of the seat tilted slightly rearward and the seatback almost as far forward as it will go. I actually like this driving position, but I would rather have the thing working properly. I'll probably tear into it this spring after I get the Supra running.
