Apple maps integration with RZ battery levels
When I bought my RZ last month, apple maps would show battery levels for the vehicle and would route based on charge available and plan stops accordingly. Now for last couple of weeks I have lost that integration. I tried every trick but without any luck. Logged in and out of my Lexus account, removed the vehicle from account and added again, removed all driver profiles and then readded these, reset the RZ to factory defaults, removed Lexus app from phone, removed vehicle from Apple maps and tried adding these again but still unable to get battery info from vehicles. It keeps saying that battery info was last updated 21 days ago.
Anything you guys can suggest to make it work again. I am lost here completely. Thanks

I don't have my RZ 500e yet, (the Netherlands, delivery in August) But it seems to be a more common issue. What you could try:
1. Contact Lexus App Support and reference the known issue. They should be aware of similar cases.
Ask them to escalate it as a server‑side battery telemetry sync failure.
2. Check for Lexus app updates. Several owners regained EV routing after a backend or app update — not after any local troubleshooting.
3. Wait for Lexus to fix the backend. Not satisfying, but based on all reports, this is the only thing that has worked for others.
4. Temporary workaround: use the app A Better Routeplanner (ABRP).
There was never any support for battery level support in Android auto so I cannot count on that either. Hope the above helps.

Just thought I'd participate. I just got a 2023 450e and am also unable to set up the EV Routing feature with Apple Maps / CarPlay.
Interestingly enough, I did get it to catch one time! It triggered and enabled the feature, but the vehicle's name had the phrase "null" in it! It's as though the software somehow did at least a partial handshake, but failed to get it entirely, because the routing feature, while technically enabled (Vehicles now appeared under my profile in Maps), it didn't actually function properly... it was like a half-baked handshake of some sort (I am not a software guy so I couldn't really tell you).....
Anyway, that's at least a glimmer of hope. It "tried" to connect, but didn't really work. I was optimistic, so I pulled everything again, nuked the CarPlay connection, removed the car from my Bluetooth, forgot my device from the car, etc, etc., and just "started all over" - and now, I can't get it to do anything after tapping the button in the Lexus app to enable it. It just switches me back over to Apple Maps and does nothing.
Sad...
Hopefully this is fixed, eventually.... it would be nice. But, at the end of the day, I am very rarely going to take any long trips that would warrant it, and I can very easily plan my own route. So, while I don't need it, it would be pretty nice to have!

I had to reset my phone to factory settings and then installed everything from cloud backup. It started to work afterwards and so far, it is working for last 3 weeks without any issue.
Update:
I basically just kept trying it every once in a while. I might have tried maybe once or twice a day, or every couple days. I would open the app and hit the button to enable the feature.
suddenly it just worked, just a couple days ago! Whatever handshake it needed, it did it.
so, I suggest to others just keep trying every once in a while and maybe it’ll work like it did for me!
I will say that it seems that you must actually get in the car and connect to CarPlay before the battery percentage changes in Apple Maps. It seems like it’ll go hours and hours without updating but I think actually getting in the vehicle seems to push the update.

this is a feature specific to Apple Maps, but I know Google Maps has this feature. I don’t know that it connects directly with the car, I don’t think it does, but it uses some AI functionality to figure it out. You just enter your current state of charge and it tries to figure it out.
if you want something that works well and connects with the car, look into “a better route planner.” At $5 a month there is a cost (they have a yearly option too) but I tested that out and it does work. It could be worth it for those who are doing frequent road trips or using the car for extensive daily driving and prefer to be told when to stop so it takes the guesswork out.

I was actually able to get ABRP to work using an app connection. It was a third party app that is offered by ARBP and it connects to your Lexus account or app in some way to receive the data it needs to know the charge level. It seemed to work fine for those comfortable with using that method. So, maybe worthwhile as opposed to the Bluetooth hardware.

I ran into a warning today on CarPlay. It was telling me that it wasn't able to obtain the accurate battery level, or something like that. Perhaps I did not have the Lexus app running? I think this software is very picky.
It definitely updates from time to time, but it's not consistent. Right now, Apple Maps has my battery reading from 1 day ago.... not great.
I'll leave it alone and see how things go, but maybe they can fix the battery update issue.
