I haven't heard anything for a long while now. Toyota/Lexus and a couple other manufacturers remain holdouts or held-up depending on who is driving this bus.
We want to road trip our '23 RZ (next month) and we have had an (unofficial) NACS adapter for well over a year that's unused.
Any idea *when* Lexus/Toyota will get access to the Tesla Supercharger network? I just checked the Tesla app and only destination chargers appear. I haven't tried it yet, but expect it will return a not-authorized error.
Locally, we don't need to charge at a Supercharger, but on a long road trip to PNW in the West here, it would be very, very handy to have access to Tesla's fast charging network.
I'd rather use an official adapter as well, for whenever Toyota/Lexus gets around to it.
In my case, and after I remembered to *lock* the A2Z adapter, I could hear the car engage something. The Tesla app said wait 2 minutes, but nothing happened after that. No authorization error or other error message. The 2 minutes turned into several minutes, I tried again and the same. The only thing I could do is cancel. No power ever flowed and of course, the RZ provides little info.
I had thought unauthorized makes would get an unauthorized error message, at least that's what I've seen on old YT vids, but now I'm having trouble finding any of the vids I remember.
Maybe I should do a video myself.
Note: Before I "locked" the A2Z adapter, the RZ showed the charge port as "open" so that helped me get past that, at least.
I got two Superchargers to work with our RZ450e today, using the A2Z adapter.
Plugging in first and then starting the charge on the Tesla app made the difference for me. Now, will it still work a month from now for our road trip or will the Supercharges get locked down again?
