Default Information display blank

I have a 2000 RX 300, when the battery was changed the center information display quit working, I've check all the fuses and relays but they checkout ok. Has anyone com across this problem and how to fix. Is there a way to determine if the LCD screen is bad?

Have you checked the fuse box behind the coin box, on the bolster directly in front of your left knee?

Yes, there is. Open the drawer, then squeeze the sides and keep on pulling. You will see a fuse panel in there, and on the back of the coin drawer there is a brief description of what fuse does what, and the amperage. When this happened to my display, the problem fuse was a 7.5 amp, and was either the one marked OBD or Panel. Good luck.

Very very infrequently, the display on RX goes blank and every thing returns to normal once you remove the ignition key and put it back [In 10yrs it has happened twice to me]

liwcpa, any update?

Salim

Salimshah, That same thing happens to me every once in a while. You start it up and the display screen is blank. You turn it off and back on and every thing is fine.

Default Still no display

Its been over 4 months, so its not a matter of reseting by turning the system on and off, all fuses been check and seem ok. Is there anyway to check the module to see if it not blown. Can it be removed and tested some how.

Do a search on "D light" in the console. You will find instructions how to remove the instrument cluster. It could be a bad connector -- very unlikely in Lexus as all of them have a snap-hold or all bulbs are blown.

Was any work done?

Try to get the schematics before you open up things as you would need to know what to check for.

I am not sure directly on testing it, but this will help on removal, https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...e-display.html
