Hey guys just picked up my new 500h
i noticed that when using remote start no exterior lighting comes on letting you know the car is on.
is there a way to have them turn on?

 

Nobody? It seems odd that theres no lighting

 

I believe my old 2020RX was this way...no lights when running after being started remotely. Our 2021 Subaru Crosstrek, however, has the lights come on. On the one hand, it's nice to see the car lit up to confirm that it's running and provide light upon entering. On the other hand, there is some value in having it run, without a drive, in "stealth" mode so that the wrong people won't be tempted to take advantage of the driverless car (although that would be hard...but they may not know that). Unfortunately this still leaves your very good question unanswered: Is there some setting, either user or by the dealer, to make the lights come on when started remotely.

 

The Nissan Pathfinder blinks the tail lights a couple of times when remote start is used. Does the 350 not do that?

 

I have observed front indicators flash 2-3 times when I remote start. I have not paid attention to rear indicators.

 

When I used the remote on my 500h the yellow turn signal lights flashes about 4 or 5 times while starting. I will confirm today if that’s what happening.

 

When remote start is activated, lights flash a couple of times, but they do not stay on. I personally prefer this as it makes my car less obvious while in remote start.

 

Agreed. Our Subaru puts the headlights on. Makes me a little nervous when approaching the car, but I'm not exactly sure why.
