Quote: Canadian RX350H owner here - the control box is standard up here. At least it was in 2023. All you need is the 4 pin plug. Post #3 at https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...l#post11561909
Great, thank you!

Quote: No. I have the TorkLift hitch and my kick sensor still works great.
Do you remember if you had to move the kick sensor at all to install the Torklift hitch? FWIW I have a 2024 350h and it seems like it would fit in there fine without unhooking/moving the kick sensor.

When installing the Torklift hitch, I did have to remove the kick sensor in order to install the tow bar but, it was re-installed in the same place after I finished it. There has been zero interference with the sensor and it works in the same manner as without the hitch being there.

After following StefanoS’ advice Install went great today. No issues and the kick sensor still works. I even may have found a bonus digging under there because I saw what appeared to be the towing converter wiring plug. I don’t plan on pulling a trailer but if that is what I think it is then I might buy the Curt wiring to keep available just in case. Thanks to all who weighed in—-this forum is very helpful.

Trailer hitch install is 4 bolts. Try etrailer.com. It’s a little fiddly but not that difficult. Can be done in a hour. Am doing it on my 2024 RX350H. A friend has it on his and it doesn’t affect the kick opening. The wiring is a little more involved for trailer lights.
my best advice is to never have the dealer install anything

I gotta concur. Often, it's a case of the blind leading the blind.

Hitch and Kick Sensor
The Torklift EcoHitch bolts on relatively easy after temporarily removing the kick sensor and then reinstalling it. The kick sensor works just fine with the hitch installed. The hitch works well with an e-bike rack. Lexus will not install a hitch unless the vehicle has an oil cooler and a few other hitch options. It is a good idea to turn off the kick sensor when a bike rack is installed to avoid accidently opening the back door into the rack.

Oil cooler? What oil cooler? (Normally a transmission cooler perhaps, but the Lexus does not have that either). And "other options"? What other options unless you are referring to the $120 electrical box to hook up power for a trailer. That is standard in the cars sold to Canada market.

Your information is not correct based on my experience. Look back 2-3 pages where I posted that my dealer spent several hours researching parts and there is not an add on cooler. This was correct for the previous generation. I had a 2020 with the tow package and a cooler was part of it. The cooler was hidden in the front bumper ahead of the left tire. Other way of looking at it was that the "factory tow package" has been modified. On mine it was about 150 bucks which would not cover a cooler. All it included was the cable to activate brake lights. That package was later modified to include the hitch but, unless something really huge changed from 2024 to 2025 there is no cooler. And my Lexus hitch was absolutely installed by my Lexus dealer. Again look back a couple of pages for part numbers.

The original RX had an engine oil cooler and a transmission fluid cooler as part of the "Towing Prep" package (don't know about the current model). The rest of the package included a larger capacity battery and alternator, and some additional wiring in the trunk.

Which "original RX"? Year? Model?? I researched the daylights out of this because if the 2023 RX350h was not able to tow my ski boat, the deal was off. For clarity, we are talking about the latest generation - 2023 and onward on this subforum.

The factory tow package that had a different radiator and a supplemental trans cooler existed for at least the 4th gen. I spent a lot of time finding a 2020 with that package since I wanted the factory hitch. Again the current model does not have a different radiator (dealer confirmed that there is only a single part number). Part of the confusion at dealers is that some idiot at Lexus cut and pasted the previous generation information to the new model so the dealer sees wrong info. They also put totally incorrect information in the parts system. Originally the local dealer came back and said the system shows that the activity hitch it a prereq for the trailer hitch. Good luck putting both of those on the same vehicle. Just wish someone with Lexus would simply state the current facts. Can't figure out why they refuse to. They say to ask you dealer and then give the dealer wrong info.

Turning off the kick sensor needs to be repeated. Turn it off before the install. I posted last year that just removing the bike rack caused the hatch to pop open into the rack.

Just installed the Torklift EcoHitch. The instructions don't work well. We ended up inserting the bar first before putting the side brackets. Put the bolts in on the bar. Then starting from the driver side, slide the side brackets in and insert the hitch bar, put all the bolts one at a time and just fasten loosely first, then do the same at the passenger side. This method was faster than what the video/paper instructions are showing.
