Default New RX Owner - A few QUestions

Hey - love the forum.

New RX350 owner here - Base model (Premium), non Hybrid. I traded in my IS350, got an amazing price for a 10 year old car in great shape, but I must admit there are times I miss it, it was more fun than the RX.

Wondering if anyone has a trailer hitch on their RX? Dealer wanted almost $1700 so I am thinking of going aftermarket. Dont tow anything major, just a small utility trailer up at my cottage and maybe a bike rack.

Any pics of aftermarket hitches out there - would love to see what they look like!

Also, I am not super impressed with the stock stereo in this vehicle, knowhere near the IS, wondering is anyone has upgraded their speakers, and would this even make a difference....

Thanks in Advance!

I don't have a trailer hitch on my RX350, but I have personally installed Draw-Tite brand hitches on two different vehicles that I owned for many years. I think they are good quality and durable from my experience. I did have to clean and repaint them periodically. Best wishes on finding the right hitch for your needs. Keep us posted.

I had this speaker upgrade done in a base stereo 2022 NX and now transfer the speakers to a.base stereo 2026 RX https://www.clublexus.com/forums/nx-...placement.html
There are probably more cost effective solutions so let your budget guide you.

Interesting - I have the base audio in our RX and it sounds no worse than the ML in my ES. Maybe my hearing is shot

Have the Curt hitch on our 2024 RX 350h. Third one on two other RX's. Everyone has been perfect no problems no rust etc. I bought it on Amazon and had my local Lexus dealership install for $150. Use just for hauling bikes.

I have the ML in my RX and I feel that it significantly lacks in base compared to the ML in my 2016.

Thinking of changing the front door speakers as a starting point. Did you use a Wire harness adapter for speaker connector? What about the speaker mount, I have a 6X9, but not sure if I need an adapter. Unfortunately, Crutchfield doesn't have any info on RX.

In the posting I unfortunately did not include the part number for wire harness and mounting adaptor.
The
wireharness is genertic Toyota dash corner speaker wireharness is genertic Toyota dash corner speaker
The
door adaptor is Toyota Lexus Metra 82-8146 door adaptor is Toyota Lexus Metra 82-8146
6" x 9" Front Speaker Adapter - Fits SELECT 2002-UP Lexus and Toyota Vehicles
As far as clarity in the front stage this will help. For bass, you need to add an aftermarket subwoofer and power amp as others have done. I have not yet.

I'm hoping you want to also change the oil and not just the oil filter 😄😄

Here is a massive thread on hitches. 1700 for oem is about right. I posted the part numbers for my 2024 near the end of the thread. If you change your mind and go OEM - Lexus may have changed a part number on the pigtail connector in 2026. Lots of non OEM stuff discussed in it also. To tow a trailer (OEM or not) you need a couple of cables to enable the brake lights. I know in 2024 that the cables were not added at the factory for US models but several people posted that they were added for Canada

I am a new owner of a 2026 RX 350 Premium+ AWD. I’m able to remote‑start the vehicle using the Lexus app, but not with the key fob. What could be the issue?
