The 9-Beep Saga
I know there was a previous thread about the RX (and maybe all Toyota brand vehicles) emitting 9-beeps when locking the vehicle. I have the back seat warning turned off but my 2023 RX 350 still randomly emits 9 beeps when I lock the car. The Dealer says it is a software problem (obviously). Still, it has been 3 years and no fix. This appears to be the level of customer care they now have. This is my 4th RX and I never had any problems until now. They just don't seem to care any more. The Nav/Entertainment center has had many software "bugs" since the 5th Gen was marketed...Still, no fixes.
Has anyone else had the 9-beep problem fixed? If so, how? TIA

So wish the multimedia unit had a “Beep” log feature. All the crap sounds the same and if there is a text explaining it the test disappears before you can look to read it.

Ah ok, I see you are saying you have already disabled the reminder.
And otherwise, once again the instructions for other users.
Fix 9 beeps (Rear Seat Reminder):
And otherwise, once again the instructions for other users.
Fix 9 beeps (Rear Seat Reminder):
- Ignition ON, center screen → Settings (gear icon).
- Vehicle Customize → Utility → Rear Seat Reminder → Off.
- Lexus App: Notifications → disable rear seat alerts.
Test by locking car. Done.

I am a bit confused because it could be the child in the car reminder function or the rear seatbacks. It could be related to the rear seatbacks, either they are not fully latched or the monitoring system is detecting them as not properly secured.

After three years I've generally conceded that my 2023 RX will make some noises and pop up some messages I will never understand, and I'm with that.
Still don't enjoy it when there is ice and snow outside, all the sensors freeze up, and the dashboard lights up with eight different messages/warnings/salutations. Whatever!

As for the parking sensors not working after rain, dirt, or a car wash and triggering yellow warnings about dirty sensors, I think I already had that with the 2018 RX model, and I consider it normal. Other car brands have the same issue.
P.S. The one and only true Lexus is the Lexus LS600h. (I loved it, but it’s a sedan, not an SUV.)

The "Child in the back seat" monitor function has been disabled, so that isn't the problem. I have speculated about the back seats not securely latching, as the culprit but can't confirm it. Lexus says it is a software problem...one they have had 3 years to fix.
Regarding software and firmware updates, I have experienced various minor issues with my Japan produced RX500 from the very beginning and reported them early on. I visited the workshop four times, a Lexus authorized service center, but each time I was told that no new software was available.
After contacting Lexus Switzerland, I was informed that a software update would be released in May 2025, but that update never appeared.
I have now noticed two things. First, since 2024 there have been no over the air updates delivered via the internet directly to the vehicle, and the system does not detect any new software. However, it is possible to view the individual software versions in the vehicle menu, such as security systems and engine control, and all of them are outdated. Second, after contacting the Lexus dealer again, I was told that the vehicle must be connected to a diagnostic device and that updates can only be carried out there.
*********
This means I have effectively been waiting two years for updates. I will check this again at the next service, as I find it unreasonable to schedule a separate appointment just for this.
Attached is a PDF showing the current software versions in my vehicle.

We have our 10k service scheduled for later this week.
will they automatically do a software and firmware update or must we request that?
I have reminded my Service Advisor about the rear camera update.
I had at least five visits due to strange issues (It would make sense to me to update the software as well.). The tailgate does not always work, the navigation voice cracks and glitches, the sensors behave erratically, the map is outdated, and the gear shifting is jerky. .....
You would think that, since this is a highly software driven vehicle, the software would be checked regularly.
But no, no update was done :-) now i have to bring the car in again and leave it there for two days.
I think you need to explicitly request a software update for your vehicle.
→ request and verify
