Battery shuts down

The 12 volt batteries on these cars are underpowered. They’re not good for much of anything but powering up the car to unlock the doors and give a nudge to the big hybrid battery to start the car. If you leave the doors open for a long time, sit there in ACC mode (not started) listening to the radio, etc, you can run the battery down to a level where it can’t be started.
You need to learn how to do a jump start the car yourself. This will also allow you to supervise a AAA or other roadside assistance guy to make sure they don’t hook it up wrong and fry your electronics.
You need to learn how to get into your car with the manual key when the battery is dead.
Does your car sit for long periods of time without being driven? That is a problem with these cars.
Take the time to educate yourself on the battery issue. Read that entire link posted above. The admins will likely move your post to that existing thread, anyway.
The issue should not exist, and there are thousands of owners who have had no problems with this. But there are ways to prevent and remedy this and that thread will tell you what you can do to be proactive and prepared.
Normally, the engine is not running during these conditions. Still, years of conditioning made turning off the ignition difficult to remember. "Old Habits Die Hard"
Despite doing what they said, our battery died 2 1/2 years from its manufacturing date.
