Never looked at it until yesterday and have had the car 18 months. Hit the down arrow on left side of sterring wheel to toggle down to see miles to empty and stopped one group short. It shows the average MPH at about 25mph. What is this showing? Obviously in 18 months I have been driving a lot faster than 25

 

Most of the cars we have owned for the past 15 years have this capability. It isn't that accurate, as you found out.

You need to remember that the MPH 'timer' includes ignition-ON time, so speeds while parking and at red lights are included in the calculation.



This guy's average speeds are probably closer to your expectations, LOL
