Looks like the rims got scared up from something. It doesn't matter the cause, but the dealership should have discovered the damage prior to delivery to you. You should be given new ones. But, since you didn't noticed the damage when you accepted the RX, they might not be so generous. 🤔

Thanks for quick reply. The pictures are of both rear wheels have it. First thought a stick might have got in there but then saw it on both sides. 400 miles on car

Looks like a tie-down strap was passed through the wheels during shipping. Transport drivers normally don't do that, was this vehicle shipped from one dealer to another? As in a "dealer trade"?

Your dealer might try to repaint the wheels, many dealers repair/repaint wheels on used vehicles. If you want new wheels, make that request clear when you speak to the dealer rep.

Let us know how you do with the dealer. I'm wondering if they will step up and take care of you, or try to claim that the damage was done after delivery.

heading there today. Will update. This is my first Lexus. Love the car but this might poison the well for future dealings with my local dealer. Luckily there are two hour away

This is my first Lexus also. Different type of problem, but I had a vibration at high speed I noticed about 800 miles in. The dealership was very responsive and took care of it right away with a road force balance. So far I'm very satisfied with the Lexus service experience. It's very different than a Toyota or other mainstream dealership. Hopefully you have the same type of experience.

So they are going to fix them with a repaint or whatever and then sell them as new wheels on another unsuspecting customer's new car?
