Does anyone know if it comes with or if you can get (not aftermarket) the credit card key?

 

If it has the technology package, it will have it.

Since when does a Gen 5 RX come with a key card? You can get the crappy digital key (for a $200 upcharge plus later subscription) but never heard of a key card coming with them.

 

The RX (unlike the NX) does not come with the flat credit card type key card. They need to bought separately and then programmed to the vehicle. I, along with several others have done that. There are several long threads here dealing with how to do it.

I have it on my NX 30h Luxury.

For the RX, I have mis-spoken and sorry for the confusion. I think it may need to added on afterwards with key programming at an extra $$$. Please confirm with dealer if that vehicle can accommodate it.

Sorry, mis-spoken. Yes, it doesn't come with the digital credit card key but can be added (required programming at an extra cost). This works like a regular card card key.

The subscription key is referred as the digital key (on the phone option) that needs a subscription.

 

Interesting. I just picked up my 2026 RX 500h and I got a black key card along with the two fobs. I didnt ask for it. Seems it comes standard, at least with the 2026 RX 500h.

 

Very nice. Maybe that's something new Lexus started with the 2026 model year.

 

I got the key card for our 24 Tacoma included. It is the best thing ever. Our 26 350H did not come with it and when I asked they said "none of the RX's have them standard. Only part of the tech package on the highest model".

It is my wife's car and she doesn't mind the fob. If it was my car daily I would pay whatever extra to get a key card.

 

Our 2025 RX 450h+ we got last month didn't come with the key card. Unless it's hidden somewhere, but it definitely wasn't handed to us.
