Recently had rat damage to my car....after repair I am having app issues. Just came back from the dealership and they are reporting app problems. I am waiting a call for an update.
I wonder if the AWS outage is affecting the app now. The app has not updated since yesterday afternoon and shows zero HV range and zero EV range. The car has been charging overnight. Worried that my 12v battery was dead so I checked the car, it was fine. Unplugged and checked the screen and it said charge completed.
Maybe I am just ignorant of technology. I don't recall ever signing in on my 2023 RX. I am always signed in. I just get in the car, start it up and go. I have rerely used the phone app (only to locak doors twice).
This is for the iPhone and android app only. No issues with the car software, although it is lacking, but that is another topic.
Lexus and Toyota have never been on the bleeding edge of infotainment technology. They're conservative and lean towards stability, even if that makes them lag somewhat behind. The Cadillac XT4 I traded for my RX350 had the latest in tech that GM had to offer on a 33-inch LCD screen. I gotta admit, it look stunning and could do a lot more than my RX, but there was one problem. Not all of it worked all of the time. Safety systems would drop out as unavailable. Settings would revert back to factory defaults on their own routinely. My personal favorite was the emergency rear braking activating every time I tried to back up in the rain. Couldn't get two feet out of my driveway without the thing jamming on my brakes. The only fix available was to disable it, which I ended up doing before I got whiplash.
My RX's tech may not be as advanced, but it all works every time I drive it and lets me back out of my driveway in the rain. I'll take that any day.
