When I receive a text message (Apple Carplay) and I select the message, the text is read out loud. This conflicts with any music being played and the volume is usually too low to hear well. Is there a way to change this so that I can read the words from the text message on the screen (or both out loud & words)? I’ve tried to research and the only option was to change to the voice commands and this creates a similar issue that was mentioned in another post where the battery level is then swapped out for a different icon - and the text words were still not appearing.
While the text is being read aloud, turn up the volume ****. Same thing with Carplay nav spoken word. They would never allow the message to be read off the screen because they would face lawsuits from distracted drivers who crashed while reading texts.

Lol @ the volume **** - I do turn it up so that I can hear it, but that is over music or podcast playing. As far as the comment that they would never allow this, I have had cars that show the written text and friend who has the android version of carplay in a newer Rav4, and that does as well. And the instructions I found explain how to do this (which makes me think it’s possible) but issues were as I already mentioned.
