I got a 2024 rx350h back in march. At that time, when someone texted me it would pop on my screen and read it to me. when I recently updated my iPhone this went away. when I now receive a text I hear a ding but it does not show on my screen unless I'm talking to someone on my phone. Is this happening to anyone or am I doing something wrong now.

 

I believe there is a setting in the config screen to enable.

 

I believe you have to enable it in the phone, too.

Settings > Bluetooth > Your car > Show Message Notificaitons.

 

Who can remember the days when we only had to learn HOW HARD TO SLAM THE DOOR?

 

And now they want to add AI to all these to do the thinking for us.........

 

I upgraded my IPhone a couple of months ago and have the same issue. The text used to pop up on the screen and read it. It would then prompt me if I wanted to respond. After the phone upgrade, which likely had the software upgrade, I now get the ding and the radio does announce the text over the speakers but that's it. I went through all the settings on my phone and the car and enabled everything I could find with no luck. I brought this to the Lexus advisor's attention during my last service and they had their "tech expert" look at it and they couldn't figure it out. They did call back later that day and informed me that Lexus is aware of this issue and they started getting complaints around the 4th of December. He said they think it has something to do with the apple car play software update and they are not sure if the fix is a Lexus or apple car update. I brought my car in on the 13th of December and I was the first to mention this. Just a FYI.

 

After the iphone update, the pop-up stopped on our Lexus, Ram pickup and Mercedes. So I’m blaming Apple for this one.
