Cannot download Digital Key within the Lexus app?
I ended up on the 5th Gen forum because it was the only place I got a hit when searching the threads for Lexus Connect information.
Do you, by any chance, happen to know what the 5th Gen remote activation steps are?
I'm pretty sure I'm not going to paying and using Lexus Connect. My iPhone, Apple carplay and apps, along with a carplay wifi adapter are better in my case. But, the remote features on Lexus Connect seemed like something I wanted to try. And there is no similar function in carplay.
Thanks for your help.

It took me forever to get the digital key to download to my phone. I called Lexus Customer Service and they walked me through it. Basically I had to completely delete the app from my phone AND wipe all my profile and data from the car itself. Once I did that they paired immediately. Bummer was I had to go back in a re-set all my in-car preferences since they all disappeared when I wiped my profile - seat positions, notifications, HUD and driving preferences, etc.

Yeah.
Digital key is not an option for either of my Lexus'. They're too old. And, I the remote in the Lexus app is said not to be the same thing.
Considering how hard it's been so far to get this right and get support, I should probably let it go.
I really just wanted to see how it worked, what the features were and, if I'd really use it. I could see myself starting the car as I walked out into a big box store parking lot in the summer to leave so that the A/C would precool the vehicle. But, ONLY IF the system was secure enough that no one else could gain access to the car and drive off with it. The city I live in has at least, two vehicle thefts a day! And, Lexus' are targeted.
I'm seriously considering putting a hidden, fuel pump shut off switch on both of them for this reason. That's become a standard, anti-theft device around here.
The thieves tend to be HS aged to twenty somethings. They're very savvy at defeating keyless systems. They steal for use in other crimes or sideshows. And, they go for the real high end stuff as part of organized car theft rings. It's said that cars like my LC, will be in a container and on a ship bound for the middle east within 24 hours of it being stolen.

The Lexus gods have decided that I've spoken too much on this subject and my digital keys have miraculously stopped working. I had two phones with working digital keys and now the primary has uninstalled itself. It refuses to let me download it again so I removed the permissions for the secondary to see if that was the problem. It wasn't, and now neither work. We need to form a CL Digital Key support group with lots of whiskey...
I believe with the digital key if you try to leave your phone in your car and go into a store you can't lock the car bc it detects a key inside. How do you get around that other than either putting your phone in airplane mode or turning off the bluetooth in the phone's settings?
