Default First Service!

I am about to schedule my first service for my 500h. Are there any other recommended services I should ask for? So far I have window roll down with key fob and sunroof drain clearing. An oil change was performed around the 2000 odo reading. First Lexus, just trying to make this vehicle last longer.

I replaced the wheel locks (not bolts) on my ES just for fear of service misplacing the key. I guess the same goes for the bolts which I've yet to do on the RX.

I thought service departments had master keys for wheel locks.

Is there a list somewhere of those settings?

that wouldn't do you much good if you get a flat and only then realize they misplaced it during your last service! Happened to my son in law with his M4.

my own recommendation for the future is to NOT ask for a particular service, e.g. 15k, 30k, whatever. That provides an excuse for dealers to charge silly amounts for a modest amount of work.
One of the best things about the RX is that the services are basically very simple, most are just glorified oil changes and filter changes.
As such, I've always gone to either independent shops or dealers (e.g. Toyota) who will simply do what needs to be done, a la carte. NOT the 30k service, but rather ask for what the manual describes: oil change, filters, rotate tires, inspection of stuff etc.
This has saved me considerable money over the years...when I bought my first RX Lexus issued an estimate for what each "service" (e.g. 20k) would cost, and I have ended up paying only about 40% of that inflated price, and had all the work professionally performed.

My point was… since the service department has a master key, they shouldn’t need to use YOUR key at all.

I used the Carista app and an OBD2 reader and changed 5 or 6 settings myself that the dealer can do but are not in the Settings area in the car. Do it yourself and change as many things as you want and don't rely on the dealer to do them and charge you. The full list of all you can change are on the Carista website.
