350 hybrid 900 miles - tonight heard what sounded like air leaking from a tire but it wasn't. Pulled over and it sounded like it was coming from the center of the car but couldn't pinpoint exactly the source. Shut down the car and restarted and the hissing stopped. Previously owned a NX350h and never heard that hissing sound and it's the same drivetrain. Thoughts? Something to do with the hybrid battery maybe?

Can't begin to speculate without hearing the noise. Continue to document any occurrences...perhaps a recording on a cell phone B4 restarting (tho' the sound quality on a phone isn't great).

Otherwise, you are facing the dealer's favorite phrase "Could not Duplicate".

 

Probably worth waiting to see if it happens again and getting a video of the issue.

 

It could be the system doing an evap check? most cars do that.

 

Probably the AC refrigerant doing its thing (expanding) in the evaporator behind the dash.
