Radar detector and dash cam together
I want to install a Valentine Gen 2 Radar Detector into my 2025 RX450h+, as well as a TBD dash cam. I’m not a big fan of running wires near air bags and whatever else is in this “electronics everything” car. The last thing I want to do to install this stuff physically, only to find that something doesn’t work or is incompatible. I have run tucked-in wires, and fuse block connections in my 2013 GS, but this 2025 RX is quite a different vehicle.
I have heard of power connections that tap into the mirror (I have the digital mirror), and they seem like a good way to go, at least for the Valentine, which I would want to power whenever the ignition is on. Power for a dash cam is a different situation because I’d like to have video recorded if the car is hit when it’s parked. I keep the car in an attached garage, so I don’t need protection there. It’d really be great if the dashcam had a limited internal power for a short period of time (maybe a capacitor?) to cover parking lots when running errands.
Next is the issue of how to mount the two items, in a way that they don’t interfere with each other, or the car itself, physically or electromagneticallly. Although technically they could be attached to the car with Velcro or similar, I wouldn’t be averse to something that would piggyback on the mirror mount.
As to the dashcam selection, I want something that will do the job well - get clear high resolution video, day and night, front and rear, speed/location overlay. Inside is not that important, but I certainly want it to record any encounter I may have at my window, like pulled over.
I’m not looking for something elaborate, but for a car whose sticker was pushing $80k, it wouldn’t make sense to pinch pennies.
Any recommendations or insights would be appreciated. BTW, I have an iPhone 15 Pro in the car.

Perhaps the RD forum could help with mount & camera info, especially the member Vortex, who has a YT channel.

I would be very interested in such a product as well. That way only (1) device on the windshield area with (1) wiring harness as well. Seems like this would be possible? Maybe a missed opportunity for some tech entrepreneur?
