Are we ever going to get the split screen back on the 2024/5 RX model? There is ample space for it on the 14.5 inch screen and I see no reason not to bring it back. I did have it on my 2019 LS350. No idea why it was taken away..
Not sure why you mean by split screen. Seems to me the functions are pretty well laid out.
Showing more that one thing on the screen at once. Imagine nav and radio at the same time. Their last system allowed for this and on a much smaller screen.
Word is screen replacement is on the order of $14k. Regardless, as has been mentioned in this thread, the RX now has a much larger screen with seemingly less simultaneously displayed info and capability. My wife's RX's predecessor, an X5, and my F350, did/does a tremendously better job at displaying desired info, without being intrusive.
And not everyone likes to use Car Play or Android Auto. Those aren't universal solutions.
To be fair it looks gorgeous but has quite a bit fewer capabilities than their last generation system.
Based on my experience coming from 2013 GS into 2025 RX450h+…
Lexus’ infotainment system current generation is a HUGE step backwards. Yes, they added some great functionality over the years, but removed some pretty basic functionality, like standalone navigation system.
Seems like the whole human machine interface has been very poorly designed. Some things like the whole “cloud” utilization concept, and telematics seem to have been just wedged in, and not too well thought out.
I had a 2016 RX Luxury, with a 12" screen. I traded it for a 2023 RX Luxury. The 2016 was light years ahead, as far as I'm concerned. I miss having the next 5 exits (including Rest Areas) when I was in Navigation mode. Now, I have to ask Lexus about the next Rest Area.

Almost nobody uses the native NAV these days. I'm sure Toyota realizes this so why waste resources.
I occasionally (less than 10% of the time though) use the native nav, primarily cause I enjoy seeing the directions on my HUD. I certainly don't see myself paying for navigation though after the trial period, just for that.
