Question Ground for Dash Cam Installation

Hi, I have a 2024 Lexus RX 450h+ and I have purchased a dash cam which requires a battery, acc, and ground connection. I have found an empty slot for battery and acc but for I just can't locate a proper ground point anywhere along the path from windshield through A Pillar to fuse box below the dashboard. Does anyone know the easily accessible location of a ground nut that I can use for this purpose?

I wouldn't run any wires down the a-pillar. You don't want to interfere with the curtain airbags.

Have you looked at MirrorTap?

I spent a lot of time looking for solutions that work with a 2024 Lexus RX and the windshield console, but the suggested solutions (Dongar Pro, Fitcamx, Mercylion, all seem to use the 10 pin Type B auto-dimming rear view mirror connector leads to a lot of error codes and check engine light if you have a digital rearview mirror (ask me how I know). Some people have had this work, but I am skeptical given my experience. In any case, there is a substantial wire harness that runs on the interior side of the A pillar that is well out of the way of the airbag. You can cross over to the rubber gasket by going behind or below the airbag, thereby not interfering with it's function.
Lots of videos on this, including this one at 1:40

I did find a solution for ground - there is a black plastic "nut" on the left back of the front driver foot well which is a good ground (per ohmeter). I put a washer on this and tightened the ground wire to it, used a fuse tap for an empty ACC and Batt fuse and we are good to go. Everything back in place and invisible, and now a functioning dash cam with parking mode enabled.

I did the install that is on the thread about this, I used the 10 pin type B and will never go back to the wire up the door trim. No codes, I used the one from amazon that has the dual outlet.

Could it be the camera drains a lot of juice and that throws the error code?

I really wanted this to work. I am using a Viofo A119 Mini 3 which uses 1 amp, so not likely. I got about 8 error codes, all relating to a variety of functions of the driving safety systems, including braking. They all cleared when I unplugged the device, which was the same one you used. In fact, I bought one that someone said worked on a 2024 450h+ with digital rearview mirror, but I saw others who said it threw error codes. The manufacturers of these devices only list the RX 450h up to 2022, not the 2024. Now that I am installed, it doesn't matter. Totally agree; I would much prefer just doing this behind the rearview mirror.
