Default Changing engine filter

I have a 2023 RX350h. I have been unable to find a video to show how to change the engine filter. I have seen the video for cabin filter but the engine filter seems complicated for someone who knows nothing about cars. Can anyone give me guidance?

We have a 2023 NX 350 h and 2024 RX 350h and both almost identical. Just snap back the two silver clips gently. Lift up and on the RX because of space issue need to twixt the housing a little bit as lifting.

I buy mine from a Lexus discount dealer about $20. I change every May and November I take it out and blow it with a strong lawn blower opposite direction of air flow.

About every six months I pull the wipers away from the windshield and wipe with a rag dampen with rubbing alcohol. They are filthy. They take a beating from the sun and rain. I then coat with lubricant pictured. Just roll on and let dry maybe 5 minutes. I replace every three years. The lubricant also great for door seals and especially moon roof rubber seals.

Next question.
How often should you change your engine air filter?
Answers on the internet are all over the place. I was planning on every 30K miles. I have read 15-30k, every 2 years, 30k-45K, 12k or 1 year. I think if you travel on dusty, gravel, or unpaved roads you would have the do much more frequently (every year).

Lexus says 30,000 miles, It takes one minute to change and cost $20 so I do every year along with the cabin air filter also $20 and takes four minutes. Someone posted here the dealer charges over $150 to change both.

I visually inspect the filter and replace as-needed. It's hard to give a mileage interval that works for everyone, since it is affected so much by environmental factors.

Just got around to replacing the filter. It was kind of snug closing the compartment after I replaced the filter but this video was very helpful. Thank you

yes, living on a dirt road can make it get dirty quicker. Usually end up changing it once/year when I get the oil changed.

I would not use any alcohol on the rubber wiper. Alcohol dries and cracks rubber. It may clean it but it’s more harmful on the rubber in the long run. Use only damp cloth with soap if you want to clean then that rubber seal protectant you have there.
