Interesting read on Lexus interiors
Spotted this article and, while some of it sounds like The Devil Wears Prada in car-fashion form, it does show Lexus giving a lot of thought to its interiors.

BMW was doing this years ago with the I3 EV, recyclable and sustainable fabrics and bamboo for example. Tesla only use is vinyl seats no leather.
However, I think both the Tesla and the BMW have lackluster interiors being very plain and minimal. I’m not sure people like that. I just think they simply tolerate it because they want an EV.
I hope future designs keep the cockpit design for vehicles while improving upon the materials used. It sounds like Lexus is headed that direction.

Are you referring to Tesla? Yes, their seat material is vinyl and feels absolutely awful.
It amuses me how much the general public inflates their perception of Tesla. I love EVs, but current Teslas are not good vehicles.

HA. The dashboard scratching issue should be part of the new car delivery orientation. I'm pretty careful about cleaning my car and it got me pretty good. High quality soft microfiber towel put a few scratches in the dash. Ridiculous! I now use one of those California type dusters to just sweep the dust off.
