Default Wiper Blade Replacement

Any recommendations for new wiper blades? Buy from the dealer parts department or aftermarket?

I really like PIAA Aerovogue wipers. Have used them on all my vehicles for the better part of a decade including our 2013 RX350. Not sure if they fit the 5th gen though.

I usually just buy the rubber wiper insert from the dealer. There's no reason to replace the whole arm. It's cheaper too.

Last week I attempted to buy the inserts **alone** from the local Lexus dealer, just to have on hand. They don't even stock them!!! And the Toyota dealer didn't have the Lexus sizes, either.

So much easier to replace the entire blade rather than the refills. I use Trico and they are OEM fit at least for our cars (17RX and 19ES).

I only saw the rear and front left inserts on the list.

Does anyone have the part number for a 2024 RX450h+ wiper blade front left and right? The mylparts link above does not show anything when I select this vehicle. Thanks!

Just to chime in - I let the dealer replace blades now, and pay whatever it costs. Why? Because one time on a BMW, I removed the blade assembly to change it and mistakenly let the arm (without the blade attached) snap back and it cracked the windshield. I was supposed to lay a towel down in the wiper slot to prevent this, and forgot to do so. Needed a windshield replacement.

Just checked with blades from another car and my preferred PIAA Aerovogue blades fit. I just ordered a set.

Dang, that sucks. I've managed to avoid that in my 40 years of changing wiper blades, and never even used a towel.

Just for reference:

Driver's side front blade is 26" long.
Passenger side front is 18" long.
Rear is 16" long.

I mention this because of the variety of replacements. For example, Rock Auto lists Toyota/Lexus blade inserts by length.

I just installed a set of PIAA Aerovogue wipers on our RX450h+ They fit perfect and look almost OEM. PN is 96165 for the 26" one and 96145 for the 18" one.

Hey Lexus windshield wipers to service position or pull the wiper lever after turning the car off.

Turn off the car and right away (within 30 seconds) push the wiper control arm up to must position and hold there.

It's called service position. It's in the manual.
