My Lexus Salesman informed me yesterday, that the production line is temporarily halting the Copper Crest Color to focus on other colors. Lexus is NOT discontinuing the color CC, just not going to paint any that color for a while. The Lexus REP that informed him did not give a specific timeline. Bummer for us as we want that color, but would settle for an Iridium, which is also a nice color.
I have the Copper Crest color. I wonder if it's just supply and demand. If not that many people order this color, they focus on the most popular colors? It would be interesting to see the break down of color production so far.
When I was searching for a RX500h it seemed Caviar and Copper Crest were the easiest colors to get. Iridium wasn't hard, but the units seemed to be moving more quickly. Copper Crest units had long time-on-lot. It looks nice in a brochure, but I think most people wouldn't want to own it.
Salesman and finance guy both told me (without being asked) that all they see in terms of customer demand is white, black and the silver/grays in-between. Before ours came in they had none on the lot to view.
They liked seeing the copper crest come in just for a change even though it was already spoken for (me). And salesman said they don't have another copper crest in their incoming allocation.
They should talk to the US Mint, Pennies aren't used much any more. Maybe they have a surplus. A penny is 97.5 percent zinc and 2.5 percent copper but it still looks bright and shiny.
The allocation spreadsheets really don't show a big drop in the Copper Crest color availability, they've been pretty consistent all year from what I see.
My sales person told me nobody buys that color. Current they have 3 in the stock. There is something about copper crest color when you see it in person, its just not that appealing. Nori green on the other hand is hardest to get
