The way it was explained to me was they take invoice, minus holdback minus 3x the attachment. Toyota does the same except they only do 1x the attachment. It was a heck of a deal that I couldn't pass up.

In the market for a rx350 premium plus. Dealer knocks off $6,800 off a $60,000 MSRP, plus taxes and registration. Is that in line with what other are paying?

 

Little more than 11% off, seems better than most depending where you are located.

 

That's what you SHOULD expect on an ICE model.

 

I went through lease with immediate buyout for my RX450h+ on March 31, I wanted to finalized everything before I posted so here goes:

MRSP - $75640
Buyout price - $65761 (with registration)
CA DMV Use tax - $7070 (I live in one of the most if not the most expensive county in the country at 10.75% tax)
CA Title transfer fee $15
Vehicle service protection cancellation/refund check of $880
Total price is $71966 with CA 10.75% tax and registration.

I recently negotiated a deal on an RX500h fully optioned for about $5k off MSRP, this is in the Chicago-land area.
Many dealers have aging inventory 120+days on RX500’s so at least negotiate the 3k off MSRP

 

We got 4.7k off MSRP on Rx500h.

It required a dealer trade so didn’t have as much leverage.

we probably could have gotten more for one available on the lot.

 

There are a wide variety of deals here. Every situation is different due inventory levels, color, options, trim, region of the country, how hungry the dealership is, how particular the buyer is, etc., etc.. I wanted exactly what I wanted - down to every detail including lighted sill plates . Maybe silly but I have bought cars in the past and regretted not getting everything I wanted. In my case, the dealer made a trade with another dealer to get one of just two units in the US that were being built (at the time) that met my spec's. Not a great negotiation position - but I still made what I think was a pretty good deal.

 

If you are happy with the deal given the situation at the time and don't want to wait for possible changes to the market etc, then its a good deal.
That's how I gauged my negotiation last June, signed on the dotted line and drove away happy in my first Lexus.

 

Dear All - Getting RX 350 Luxury (ICE) model 10% off MSRP. I was debating between RX350h ($6k or $7k more) and RX450h+ ($15 k) more. Even if I take gas price 5 dollar a gallon, it will take me 6 years to break even with RX350h or drive with 12000 mile per year average and it will take me 60000 miles to drive before breakeven for 450h+. Am I missing something on why people think RX350h or 450h+ is economical. I really wanted 450h+ but price didnt make sense.

 

RX450H+ never makes sense purely from car/$ perspective - using mileage as a metric. Even though I get free charging at work, I wouldn't have gotten it from the mpg perspective at all. I do value the environmental impact, the higher hp/torque relative to the 350H, and the noise/vibration-mitigated driving when I'm in pure-EV mode and even on highways in hybrid mode, and keep cars for very long too (7-10 years). The 350H+ vs. 350 comparison is more balanced from the mpg perspective.

 

I agree plug in makes no sense for many but 350h vs ICE is a slam dunk. How is it $7k more for similarly equipped model?

 

Agree. That's where I am stuck. "Environmental impact" but no subsidy or rebate is just plain stupid in my opinion. Buyer and Seller has to meet somewhere in middle. 15,000 more is 25% of the cost of the car. The way I calculated is that 15000 dollar is 3000 gallon which is minimum 60,000 miles worth with the avg of 20 miles on ICE.
