Lexus nav vs Waze
I have Apple Maps and Waze as well on my iPhone and CarPlay. However I prefer Lexus Nav because I can simply say "Hey Lexus, take me to so and so" and the route is calculated and displayed on the screen and HUD as well as verbal directions. So easy to use.
My reason for using Waze is it has twice kept me from hitting objects laying in the road that would have damaged my car.
This also works just like that with “Hey Siri” if you use Apple Maps as your iPhone map app
That is one of the great components of Waze. I find that it causes me a bit of anxiety trying to click "still there" or "no longer there" before the option goes away. LOL. Sometimes sooner than I have confirmed.
the volume issue and the fact she does not announce when you are at the destination nor display it in the hud stinks with the lexus nav . you have to take your eyes off the road to look at a map message that says you arrived

I prefer Carplay Maps, I like when it says "go past this light and turn at the next one". It gives earlier directions, better graphics and also say's "speed check ahead" if there is a cop ahead with radar.
CarPlay maps? You mean Apple Maps? It gives police alerts - where does it get the reports from? The key to Waze is that active drivers around you report conditions - potholes, construction, accidents, etc.
Been using Waze for about 15 years. It's still my 95% go to, although it's not perfect. It has gotten a recent update with general improvements.
Time to time I've tried most of the others. None are bad, most are good. I haven't tried the built in nav because I despise subscription services. However, it can't be too much different from what was on my 2019 RAV4 (non-subscription). That was tepid at best. It took years for it to discover the street I lived on.
Waze's extensive user base gives it a leg up if you value road and police alerts.

if i remember the lexus nav is updated 2x a month with missing info .
you also have the option of calling real time assist thru the screen who can send you data on anything not in the nav system .they can add it and send you route info .
what i especially like is doing things like , hey lexus , fried chicken places near me …
she offers a list of stuff .
plus as i said we were in not even a rural area upstate NY and no cell service …waze was done for but the lexus ap is smart enough to download the maps when the signal gets weak .
we had no cell , no integrated apple music but we still had lexus nav functioning
