If there was no cellular service, how did the Lexus download maps? It also uses cellular service.

 

Google maps has offline feature. Just download it before you go.

 

according to lexus it can download maps when it senses a weak signal threshold

 

I prefer the Apple Maps over the Lexus. Being into Apple for years and years the interface is more familiar. Both work well.

 

when we were in florida we were not in a remote area at all but once again waze failed to have enough signal to load .

luckily i brought my decade old GARMIN , plugged it in , it locked. on the satellites and off we went ….

cellular is still to spotty in even populated areas to count on 100% …

 

We’ll have to reserve judgment on Apple maps vs others until later this month…Big IOS 17 release with downloadable maps.
