noticed the lexus ap can sit for a long long time showing a trip from the day before on my rx500h .

i really wish this would stay up to date since we frequently forget where we are in shopping centers .

anyway to force a location update ?

 

I have never had any problems in my location updating except when the app was down.

 

i will try outside later .. our car is in a garage inside our building .

funny that i can send gps locations i want to go to from my apartment and get all car data on the ap ..but location still shows our trip 100 miles away ..maybe it needs stronger gps signals then it has in the garage in the basement of the building

 

so did some experimenting .

here is what i found .

while the car and ap can communicate between my apartment and the garage it can only communicate certain information.

i can send destinations to the car , i can get my mileage , miles to empty ,etc .

but without a strong enough signal it can’t get last parked location .

which is wierd because obviously when you are in the car and in the garage and program a destination it knows where you are .

but for whatever reason it needs a much stronger signal to get the ap to update .

as soon as pulled the car out and parked outside the ap updated .

also i learned that if you don’t update the ap regardless of where you parked it never knows you were there .

so as an example we were at our hotel and i sent a destination to the car via the ap .

we stopped off at the destination on the way home .

i had no reason to use the lexus ap .

when the ap wouldn’t update after we got home it didn’t show the last place parked , it showed the hotel which was the last place we opened the ap not the last place we parked before going home
