2023 RX350 with FSport trim package - My driver side front fender flare fell off Sunday while I was driving 60mph down a two lane highway. There was no obstacle in the road, I didn’t swerve or do anything erratic and it wasn’t a bumpy drive. It fell off, made a lot of racket hitting God only knows under the car and was crushed by the back tire. Today the dealership quoted me $900 for a replacement. This is not the first time they’ve had this complaint but it’s not a recall event yet. The dash won’t stay snapped in either. I’ve had the vehicle 5 months and it’s literally falling apart. Very disappointing.
**I called Lexus and opened a warranty claim. Build date is 02/2023, by the way. No resolution yet. I’ll update again when I have more news.

The dashboard issue has a long thread about it already, I have the same thing. It's a known defect.
As for the fender flare, if there is no visible damage from an accident or customization, then that should be covered under warranty no?

I had read the dash separation thread. Only mentioned it here to support my “falling apart” claim. When I told the service tech what happened he never mentioned it being under warranty but I feel like it should be covered. I have an appointment on Thursday. I’ll report back afterwards.

Call Lexus USA and open a case to get it replaced under warranty. Everyone should check theirs now and make sure its secure. This is an assembly line defect.

None of ours are what I would call tightly attached.

I had a piece of trim come loose under car and a parking sensor pop in. Both were fixed under warranty.

The trim looked like it had multiple attachment points. We’re all of them utilized? Assume they are the clips the automakers use these days. We only have reports of one failing so let’s hope it does not repeat.

Well hopefully warranty covers it, but if not, the part is only $145 from Lexus. It does however require to be painted as it comes unpainted. Here is the link

2023 Lexus RX VIN starts with 2 Moulding sub-assembly, front fender, left. Body, interior - 756020E904 - Genuine Lexus Part

The painting requirement is an issue. Love that all the trim isn’t black until you need to replace it.

The hatch lock cover on my 2023 RX Lux falls off every time the hatch is opened. I finally just left it off until I go in for service. The quality of the 2023 is far below the 2007, 2014 and 2016 RXes I have owned.

These new gen RX seem to have more Toyota build quality than Lexus..

What are the build dates of these two cars that suffered this same problem - I wonder if they came down the line at the same time. I checked my pieces after seeing this thread the first time, and check again every time I wash the car to make sure they aren't loose or the fasteners have lost some of of their "bite".

It looks like the same kind of snap-in connector that the dash trim uses, as shown in the thread for that problem.

We never heard back from the first poster whether this was covered as a warranty repair - it should be - open a case with the Lexus 800 customer service number.

I would not accept Lexus telling me it was not warranty. Unless there is a dent in the bodywork where the trim is, it had to just fall off. If need be go to the district service manager but they should pay for this!

The failing part seems to be the clips themselves in all these interior/exterior trim parts. I wonder what the change was in the clips if they had to change suppliers and the tolerances aren't the same as previous ones.

edit: My RX350 loaner had the dash trim failing
