And the system does not remember your choice. If you have a small child in the back, it may not sense their presence, and not turn on.

My 2019 RAV4 had a user selectable button on the dash that stayed in the mode you selected.

 

Here is another mode learned about. When you turn on the AC by touching the button and it turns blue and you choose a fan speed, everything works great. Then you reach your destination and next time you are back in the car and turn on the car , everything works the same except the blue light is out, although the AC is still fully functional. I don't what the Lexus engineer was thinking or a bug in the software!!!

 

I think the entire AC in my 2023 RX 350 is only fair. There needs to be another vent above the lower one in front and I haven’t tested it but is that the only vent in the backseat the one behind the consul? I also assumed the AC was running if I set the temperature lower but apparently you have to press that AC to get the green light.
my previous Honda was ac just from noting the temp. Hmmmmm

 

If you set it to auto it will work that way.
