Default Climate control: A/C and AUTO mode

Hi,

my previous cars were Volvos and there if you enabled auto mode, the A//C turned on automatically.

if you turned off the A/C the auto mode would also be turned off.

in the Lexus it seems to work differently, however I don’t fully understand. (I have read the manual)

in the Lexus the AUTO mode is configured in the settings to also use A/C.

However, the A/C button is not illuminated, when the AUTO setting is on. It does cool, so the A/C is actually working in this mode. Still I can enable the A/C, but it doesn’t seem to have any influence in AUTO mode.

Can someone explain to me how AUTO mode works together with A/C 😅?

My display shows “AUTO” when it is in auto mode. The “AC” is not illuminated and can be cooling or heating, depending on the outside temp. I do not see a problem.

I meant, there seems to be no difference whether AUTO plus A/C is on, or AUTO plus A/C off.

It will always use the AC anyways if it’s necessary for cooling the car, regardless of the A/C status.

maybe that’s to be expected, to me it’s confusing - it’s my first Lexus.

Probably it has to do with this setting?
