Close and Lock still fails to work with the Digital Key; only with the FOB.

While it would make it virtually useless if this works since there is a button, have you tried it with the digital key while standing behind it? If it does work, something else to add to the software change thread.

In the 2023 RX Deep Dive video (Part 1), she does say you will need the key fob with you in order for this to work.

But nowhere does she say that this won’t work with the Digital Key. Her “you need a key FOB” for this to work implies that it should work with the Digital Key too. Put another way, it’s hard to imagine that this isn’t a software error. Why would Lexus purposely design an advanced close feature and an advanced Digital Key, but also purposely design them to be incompatible?

At least this is what I remember reading.

Wow, you revived this very old thread. What you said is indeed how it works. My issue was with the "Digital Key" on your phone. It never worked right with the rear hatch lock and walk. I finally gave up on the whole Digital Key thing and just carry the FOB. Maybe they've finally improved the Digital Key, and maybe I should take a look after about 2 years since I gave up. My now-almost-three-year-old RX350h has been great (although I only drive 5000 miles/year) overall. But the Digital Key was a failure. There should have been a class action suit and Lexus should refund the few hundred dollars they charged for this. But I have bigger fish to fry.
