Wireless Charging Issue
"When the charging coil inside a portable device is detected within the charging area, the charging coil in the wireless charger will move near the other coil and charging will begin. If the charging coil inside the portable device is moved out of the charging area, charging will be stopped automatically."
See pages 406 - 410 of the RX User Manual for troubleshooting and other tips on this topic.
While this would have been a nice feature, the wireless charger is useless on my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with a very thin case. Just the camera bump lifts the phone up enough to pretty much make it useless. I bought a 12" dual right angle USB C cord and just plug it in.

How is your wireless phone charging in the car going with the new RX? I have an iPhone 15 with a thin MagSafe case and the wireless charging is almost non-existent. It barely goes up 1 or 2 percent after 10-15 minutes of constant charging. The car is RX500h. Please share your experience. Thank you.
Agreed. They told me the same thing. I don’t understand how it works so well on my previous Cadillac but so poorly on my Lexus Rx 350h
The one time I tried it, because there was water in my charging port, the phone got so hot that the battery would not charge. On the plus side, my charging port dried out quickly...
Even with good wireless chargers, they heat up the phone and battery, shortening the battery lifespan. I don't use them for that reason.

Is the wireless charger on RX 350h a joke? I could not get my iPhone 11 charged constantly. It will stop working after a few minutes of charging. I had to pick my phone up and set it back on, but it would fail again. Kind of annoying .. just wonder anyone had the same issue. Thanks for help!

The wireless charging works fine for me. However, it is important to note that your charging experience will vary based on usage.
For example, if you turn off WIFI (force CarPlay not to connect), the phone will charge the fastest.
If you are trying to run CarPlay, use phone maps for navigation, and wireless charge at the same time, the wireless charging will appear to not be working when it can barely keep up with the energy requirements for apps running on the phone. Also, the phone will/may run hot, especially on warm days, which may cause a blinking light in which it refuses to charge. I have not seen this written anywhere, just my experience.
I experienced the exact same thing when I had my 2021 RX450H.
Wireless charging works if you don't use the wrong type of case, and don't expect to max out your phone CPU while you are charging. In which case you may want to charge via the USB instead.
I wish the iPhone was smart enough to provide a pop-up that explains the limitations so people don't automatically think wireless charging is broken.

although the guy in the video found a very expensive workaround, which is a shame you have to do that at all.

the display is still visible on the MM Carplay screen even with the phone's screen OFF.

I placed my iPhone 14 Pro into the wireless charging area and it shows it's charging but I'm using Waze on my iphone connected to the car and it doesn't seem like it's really charging since the battery is kind of still depleting but maybe more slowly.
Is this normal?

Yes, the wireless charging isn’t enough for things like that. We did a 8 hour drive last week and eventually plugged the phone into a USB C port to get it charging more than it was using. It probably would have lasted the drive but plugged it in anyway.
They chose to put in a low wattage wireless charging pad. Although wireless will not beat wired.
