Front Dash Cam Recommendations - Do You have One You Recommend?
Mine was around $500.00 total in Virginia. I did a little bargaining since I spoke to different people at the dealership and since it was new, parts dept vs service dept they hadn't figured out a set price. If you install your self, you won't have the 1 year warranty.

Been using Vantrue X4 3 years now and the video quality has been great. Durable camera too in extreme temps. Easy attach/detach. I'm using Sandisk Endurance card for the last 3 years of daily driving, including interstate travels.

Has anyone in Southern California got the factory integrated dash cam installed through the dealer? I just called the 2 dealers closest to me and the labor for the install was quoted as 4-5 hours for a total of $1200, not including parts (another $350ish), which seems crazy. Everyone else here has posted an install cost of around $180. I'm tempted to just purchase the parts and install myself.
You really should call around... Woodland Hills Lexus quoted $1k...which was high. I think Santa Monica Lexus was $800..
I think the previous post has the key to the question.. It's all about how much labor time they are quoting.. As many have not installed it before so some are going off estimates... Unlike a common install of an accessory that they're used to installing everyday.

Yeah, I'm going to call a few more dealers. Both said they haven't done one yet and the 4-5 hours is the "install time" provided by Lexus, but I don't believe it. I think they are protecting themselves, since they haven't done it before and just said 4-5 hours.
I found this on the ES forum and I suspect the install for the RX is probably the same (plug and play).

Some footage from the FiTCAMX from today. My in-laws were driving on a local road and an out of control Honda blew past them, hit the curb and crossed all over the two-lane road before coming to a stop. Can't really make out the license plate given that it was never directly in front of my in-laws' car.
Has anyone used a Dongar Technologies cable with a 5th RX? I've used them on my other three cars (two 4th gen Priuses and a 2015 Highlander) and they were very easy to use. But their website isn't 100% clear on specific vehicles and I haven't seen information on the new RX, especially if it uses the 10-pin or 12-pin connectors (which has a warning about using with safety systems).

I wasn't sure if I needed a 10 or 12 pin connector; seems like from past models, and hopefully present models, the 10 pin connector is the one to get. I will probably wait for the delivery of the car before I purchase a cable adapter and am able to verify how many pins I need to tap into. Unless someone here on this forum can confirm from personal experience if the adapter is 10 or 12 pin.
Any further information is much appreciated!

I am also trying to figure out which adaptor to use. I am patiently waiting (really!!!) on a RX350 Luxury and plan on installing a Blackvue dash cam as soon as it arrives. I have used a Dongar product in the past (dash cam install in a 17 RAM) and being able to tap into the power at the rear view mirror is game changing, versus running wires across the headliner, down the A pillar and into the lower dash to a fuse box. I have done both on different vehicles and I MUCH prefer this method.
