RX triple beam headlights - Question
I'm planning on buying a 2017 RX with navigation & triple beam. FWD instead of AWD because we don't need AWD where I live. I know for sure I want triple beam headlights. The car salesman keeps trying to sell me this top of the line AWD/fully loaded 2016 RX. He told me that for me to get the triple beam headlights, I would have to buy the very top of the line car. Is that correct? I thought that all I had to do was to pay extra for the light but not to buy every packages.
He told me I was wrong. Can someone chime in? Thank you!!!

Tell him he is wrong.
He prob just wants to sell the car on the lot.
I've seen many base model RX with just the triple beam led's.
It's an option like anything else.

It is likely that that is all the dealer has is only the top model with the triple lights. The dealers would rather you buy off the lot.
You could order one the way you want.
You could also check other dealers in your area.

It is a $1615 option, so what he says about it being part of more expensive RXs is true. Dealerships aren't likely to order 3LED without getting all the other bells and whistles as well. If you want something else, you're probably better off with a special order.

Thank you so much. I don't mind paying extra for the lights and a few packages. I just don't need to buy 1 with everything. Plus I don't want to spend $63k on it either. Especially I drive 20 minutes a day.
I told him I didn't want to special order or anything. I'm willing to wait until they get one. He told me 2017 will be $2k more than 2016.
There's only 1 Lexus dealership in my town. The next closest dealership is 2.5 hrs away. Small town sucks.

The 2k increase could be the baked in price for LSS+ as a standard feature.
Your best bet is to find a non-local dealer that is friendly to special orders, and can ship it to you. There's lot of folks here who have experience buying from out of state. Since you are waiting for a MY2017, it might be early next year before your car would arrive. You're spending your hard earned money. There's no reason why you shouldn't get the car you want.

A good dealership will trade with an out-of-state dealership to get you exactly what you want.
