Default Vinyl tint over Lexus sign ????

Curious to know because I wanted to apply some vinyl tint over my front Lexus sign which I believe sits a radar behind it and rear Lexus sign which has a sensor behind that one with that cause me to lose that function if I was to apply some vinyl tint over them.

Thank you

As a test, apply a layer of electrical tape over them and see if they lose the functions.

that’s a good idea but unfortunately I do not have any electrical tape at the moment. But I know a few people on here has done it and hoping they chime in on this question

Why do you want to do this and risk degrading safety functions?

I still have other safety features on the vehicle and I don’t use cruise control at all and I prefer the look of it long as it’s not harming anything I don’t see what the fuss is about

Who's fussing? I just wanted to know where your head was at. Now I know.

Do you have the pre collision option on your RX?

That's the one I'd be very concerned about it thinking you had something in front of your car that wasn't there.

That’s true but I figured since it’s very thin tint it wouldn’t cause that problem

lol, I read that as just one more wafer thin mint. And maybe with similar results, I personally wouldn’t risk it for myself and my family if doing it on a car with PCS.

I’ve actually had it go off a couple times (warranted) in my cars and its a very ‘exciting’ and attention getting feature. Even if the tint/vinyl didn’t set it off immediately, I suspect any sort of obfuscation layer would cause some functional issue either disabling it or making it hyper sensitive. I don’t want to find out which, lol

I've never done this, but testing with some kind of tape that's easily removed to try first. I think you're going to get nags from your sensor on the HUD.
An interesting thing to try. Let us know your results how this affects your sensor.
