I got one with Mini VCI cable of version 1.4.1 and techstream of ver 12. I used it for programming a new key fob of my 2013 RX and to disable auto steering wheel tilting for my 2017 RX with no issue. However, it does not work on showing live data for either of my Lexus cars.
I don't think one version is always better than others. You probably just need to pick up one with most positive reviews and try that out. Please report back the results. Thanks.

I read a lot of reviews, I got a VXDIAG VCX NANO for TOYOTA TIS Techstream from eBay $78+tax today. It is working perfectly. I have successfully cleared the electronic parking brake malfunction.

The connector looks very different than those sold on Amazon. Wondering if this is a better one.
I think it is better than Mini-VCI. I've been using offline mode because of the poor wifi performance of my old laptop. I am not sure the live data is working, let me try next time. The TIS version is V17.00.020.
I think it will work for all 2021 Toyota and Lexus models.

Can you elaborate on the EPB malfunctions? ie...how did you retract the parking brake and do you know what caused the malfunction. I like to do my own brakes and curious what triggered the error.
Do you trust this software? I have heard some bad stories regarding this software and problems with virus and computer intrusions. TIS is great but I have only been doing the 2 day access. Would love to have it full time but concerned with safety for PC

I appreciate that very much, I'm from Brooklyn so I'ma see if the dealership will fix it under warranty before going another route.
Live data means the running data from the car. It should not
have anything to do with WIFI. For example, when changing the transmission fluid, live data can provide real time temperature of the fluid so the amount of new fluid can be added accurately.
Also, I thought changing the rear brake pads is simple. Just use any 9v battery to retract the EPB brake and do the rest. Does that procedure trigger an error? Thanks.

Whether using the 9V battery or putting it in service mode, my rear parking brake doesn't fully retract, I still can't install the brake pads. I need to manually push the piston back and EPB malfunctions.
I can't tell if this software will be a problem, so I installed it on an unused old laptop （win 10）and it's been fine so far.
