Default display rear view camera while driving?

Is there any way to show the rear view monitor/camera on the 12.3 inch display while driving? Useful to check the trailer and trailer hitch while towing.

On our 2009 Nissan Murano, you could enter a diagnostic mode (hitting the start button 8+ times rapidly) and then take a menu option for calibrating the rear camera. Worked great.

Likely not without seriously hacking the system.

Until the Nissan lawyers find out....

Ummmm, you can put the car in reverse while driving. The car will shift to neutral and the backup camera will come on. Crazy stuff!
Do this at your own risk. I've done it before with no issues but I'm not responsible for your car.

You could contact https://www.anytimebackupcamera.com/.
They mainly list Toyotas but may have some insight for a Lexus.

Would definitely be handy to have while towing to monitor the trailer and its contents. Let us know if you find a way.

A google search found this thread on an Australian user forum. Haven't had a chance to try this on our car, but will when we get home.

I would never suggest someone else do it to their car because I'm not gonna be responsible.

But everything is drive by wire now. It's not like the shifter is connected directly to the transmission via a cable.

Yes, you can try this out. Worked well for me. Allows you to view a 3rd-party front-camera or display the rear camera with the press of a button.
