Yeah, it makes sense to hold off of some of these if you are not keeping for a long time. For example, I understand why someone would not do the transmission fluid if they are not keeping the vehicle for a long time. Even spark plugs that could cost $$$ could be put off until a lease runs out or if you plan on selling.

I put on 25,000 - 30,000 miles per year, so I do the work myself and we keep our vehicles forever (that is why we buy Toyota and Lexus). So far this plan has worked for us.

Good luck selling your car. I wouldn't give you $20 for it. If you aren't going to do regular maintenance on your vehicle, by all means don't advertise the fact all over the internet and the whole world. Maybe not a good idea.

are you for real? I do keep up with the maintenance of my vehicle but only what the manufacturer says and no where in the manual does it say to CHANGE your diff fluid every weekend let alone every 30k.

you must be one of those nut jobs that still believes in 3k oil changes.

guess how many times Carvana asked for my service records?

Well at least you are inspecting those fluids regularly, so that should be enough.

We all buy a car based on our likes, needs, driving habits and environment etc. It is a specific decision based on where you live and how many miles you drive each year. Can you imagine being an engineer at one of the major auto companies trying to figure out how to design a car that fits all of those scenarios? Impossible. We are talking about salt, hot sunshine, freezing temps, careless drivers, insects, and pollen. And I almost forgot car theft.
Do the maintenance on your car based on your personal situation. Never advertise you are doing the minimum. Lot's of smart people here on this forum to help you.
Quantum501 is very informative and so is Dibl. I take there contributions seriously. And there are many others .... too many to name.

No offense taken and I hope none on your end.

all I was trying to state is I follow what the mfg reco’s

I just think your statement about used car shoppers doing intel on club Lexus is a far reach……esp when I don’t think majority of car sales are conducted on forums.

i would not hesitate to buy a Toyota or Lexus with 100k miles without a trans or diff fluid change. That’s the confidence I have in their products. I do change my oil every 5k for what’s that worth.

couldn't agree with you more... but even if the worst scenario happens...my 2019 RX started making a grinding sound... out of warranty due to mileage the dealer wanted $$$$$ to replace it. I went to an independent. They found me a used one with a 6-month warranty. After over 2 years and 38000 miles, the used rear diff still works perfectly. The job was only $610 parts and labor, which I thought was reasonable enough.

Just bad luck. These components just don't go bad all of a sudden. Thousands of moving parts in the machine.
