Default 2017 rx 350 or fsport

Hi, I am looking to buy used rx 350 or rx 350 f sport. Which one do you guys suggest. I am concerned if f sport needs more maintenance over time like extra money on tires or electricals etc

Mechanically, the only thing I could see the F-Sport costing more over time is if the Adaptive Variable Suspension fails. That said, Lexus/Toyota has used AVS in various forms for awhile now so I wouldn't be too concerned about that. The F-Sport is usually equipped with the same tires as a comparative regular RX and unless you're in the category of drivers where F-Sport = drive like a maniac, I wouldn't be concerned either.

Some people are driven to the F-Sport for its looks. Otherwise, it does have a rougher ride so make sure you take one for a test drive before you make a decision. I know the F-Sport seats have been a deal breaker for some on this forum so keep that in mind. After extensive test drives in both the regular and F-Sport versions, I ended up picking the F-Sport but the roads where I live have not been maintained well in recent years so I really don't find a lot of enjoyment out of the F-Sport's ride anymore.

Maintenance isn’t going to be much more for the sport. If something breaks on either one it’s not going to be the norm, trucks are reliable and none have anything that’s really new and hasn’t been tested for years already. Body kit would cost more in case of an accident, but again should be same insurance deductible god forbid anything happens.

F is an appearance package so either you love it or you hate it. Try them both out see which one you feel more comfortable in. When I tested them both a few years ago I was about 50 pounds heavier than I am now and the seat felt like if my back was being wedged in the sport. Now I might not have had that issue but theres only one way to know. Go drive them both back to back and pay attention to how they both feel suspension and comfort wise then go which ever makes you happier.

F-Sport has the adaptive suspension, paddle shifters, Sport+ mode, different speedometer/tachometer, and some cosmetic items. Big-bolstered seats are hated by some -- they don't bother me. I think maybe they break in with use and are less harsh after awhile.

We have an '18 RX450h; I wish I chose the F Sport. I don't care for the squishy standard suspension.
We are waiting on a '21 F Sport which will replace the '18.

Most every vehicle decision is personal, and the choice of F-Sport or base is especially so. I have a thin frame and could not stand the firm bolstering of the F-sport seats. Others like them; even some bigger folks. A thorough test drive in both vehicles will serve you well.

I went with my 2018 F-Sport specifically for the rims. Otherwise I doubt I would have gotten a RX350. I just needed something with a little kick even if it's only cosmetic. This was after coming from a 2008 BMW X5. I figure my next car will be an electric SUV vehicle. Probably a Tesla if they can refine it enough to compete with Lexus.

You’re looking at buying a Lexus & you’re worried about extra maintenance & money?
