Default Remote Starting Tech Not Cutting Edge

We recently purchased a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek as our "other" vehicle and I was impressed at how the tech in that vehicle, about half the price of my 2020RX, is ahead of Lexus. For instance, the remote starting via smartphone starts the car, gives options on setting the heat and heated seats, and most impressively, continues to run when you unlock the door and enter the vehicle. All you have to do is drive off. I thought Subaru is affiliated with Toyota...seems odd to me that the updated/refreshed 2020RX wouldn't have the latest tech that the lesser priced/lesser vehicle affiliated Subaru has.

Just my rant, thanks for listening.

Matter of opinion as to what is necessary or not. I for one DO NOT think that having the engine running once the door is open is a desirable feature as it allows anyone to steal the car and drive off, that's precisely why Lexus' doesn't. As to adjusting the settings all you need is a warm vehicle and once in, you can make all the adjustments necessary, how long are you running the engine before getting in?

Who buys a Lexus to get a vehicle that has only what’s necessary?

Turning on the seat warmer remotely is a winner in Northeast winters!

The heated/cooled seats in the RX can be controlled by the temperature setting in the car. If you have them set to automatic, when you start the car (remotely or not), the seat heaters/cooling fans will come on according to what the HVAC system calls for. No need to fiddle with each separately. In my mind, that's a better system.

What would have been nice is to have the same system as in the ES, where the steering wheel heater is also controlled in the same way. But alas, product differentiation dictates the slight differences in features.
