Default Difficulty removing mechanical key from remote

Just got a new 2020 RX350. Learning the system and am having trouble removing the mechanical key from the electronic remote farb. Tried everything - pressed in the small lever on the remote but still can't remove the mechanical key. Any suggestions?

Only thing I can think of — press the lever, and first push the key in before trying to pull it out.

there is a button at the far end of the fob on the side that you must depress first....press the far tip of that towards the bottom of the fob....should pop right out

If you tried that and it is not working then there must be a mechanical break somewhere. Mine slides right out.
Picture below to show pushing at bottom tip to get the release.

try your other fob. The likelihood of both being broken is probably 0. Good luck

It case it is not obvious, the mechanical key is on the same side as the button, as shown in the photo. I happen to know someone that spent 5 minutes trying to pull the brushed aluminum part from the fob....

Update: Yes I did try pushing that small button in. Key still won't release. Same issue with my other farb - the key won't release. Then a strange thing happened the other day - I was just playing around with the farb and pushing the button in, and low and behold the mechanical key released. It worked fine- tried it several times - it worked. But then next day, I tried again and same issue - the key would not release. I give up - the key must be haunted ! lol!!. Going back to dealer for help.
