Default Remote start question

Is there a setting that I missing? When I do remote start there are no lights that come on at all. No matter if I do it on my phone or with the key fob, the car will start but there is no indication that it is running. Every other vehicle I have had with remote start has at least the parking lights come on when you started and the engine is running.

The lights will flash when it starts but thats it. Dash will be on and thats the only indication it is running.

I noticed the same thing. The last vehicle I had with remote start would leave on the parking lots but the RX doesn't give any visual indication. I also wish I could change the default 10 minute timeout, sometimes thats not enough time to even heat/cool the car a little and it would be nice if it would go for more than 10 mins without having to restart it, again. I'm also not a fan of it dying when I touch the door handle, but from what I read, it has something to do with the inability to transfer the ignition control to the keyfob (some encryption issue) but they tell you it's a "safety issue".

Ten minutes seems like plenty of time to warm up. Not sure I'd want it idling longer that frequently.

Nope. Perhaps a security feature as well to not draw attention to a car with engine running. Whats the difference honestly - you know when you remote started that its running.

Yes good point about security - Lexus, always thinking.

Us the lower class citizens in Australia don't have remote start capability, never heard of it here for any car, I guess it's some government restriction.
