Yes, in fact the one I got last Oct 2017, a Base Model RX350 was made in Fukuoka, Japan. You can always ask the dealer to get you one with VIN number starting with "J". The ones made in Canada starts with "2".
I'm on the East coast and thinking of ordering a 2019 RX 350 F Sport. I would prefer a made in Japan after having good experence with my 4Runner J car. Can the dealer preference one if I'm ordering or is pot luck will it will be made
FWIW, I bought a 2017 RX at the end of 2016, and it is a made in Japan model. The dealer had both Japan and Canada made models in stock. East Coast (New England).

I'm quite sure if you order one and specifically ask for a J VIN, there's a very good chance they'll locate one for you. It shouldn't hurt to ask. And make sure be ready to ask more than one dealership.
I am in Ohio and noticed that many of the Ohio Lexus dealers have new 2018 RX 350's that were assembled in Japan (VIN starting with J) rather than Ontario. Maybe 5-10% are Fukuoka Japan assembled. I was under the impression that all Norther America 2018 RX 350's were assembled in Ontario. Why do these Japan assembled RX's make it to Ohio? John
I know on my 2015 that the Ultra Luxury package ones were from Japan. Perhaps on the current model it is similar where a certain options package comes from Japan? I am in Ohio and my 2018 is from Canada.
I thought that the Japan assembled cars had some non-routine options on them. Not true. I have seen many with the options that are routinely included on Ontario assembled. Hmmm. Since there are very few Japan-assembled RX's in Ohio (maybe N/A as well) is there a risk to buying a Fukuoka RX 350 now-a-days? John

I think there are some folks that would argue the Japanese assembled ones are superior. I'm not sure it really matters.
