Default Mark Levinson.... missing 3 speakers!!!!

Here is the issue: other day I was casually browsing Lexus website and came around Mark Levinson devision ... that stated: Lexus RX has 15 speakers in 12 locations ..... so like a nut, I grabbed my flashlight and started seeing speakers through the grills ..... only to discover, that the are only 12 speakers visible .... no grills have double speakers ..... so ......
The question is simple : is Lexus Lying?

Just to make it clear .... I got full Mark Levinson package... I payed for it!!!!

No they are not Lying. The speakers are on top of each other; its a Coaxial speaker. Same speaker produces both mid range or bass and the highs depending on the location, of the speaker.

I am not 100% sure. But its usually the dash speakers and the rear door speakers in newer Lexus.

Same thing happened with the speaker count on my Jeep Wrangler. Couldn't find all the speakers then realized that they count a single coaxial speaker as 2 speakers. No sane person would count 2 mounted coaxial speakers as being 4 speakers! A speaker unit is counts as one speaker! Marketing hype....

Very interesting.

And I thought it was only 12 or 15, I did not know that base had 9.

Base 9-speaker system is not available in any of the North American markets.

Interesting. Must have been a later addition to the 2017s and newer RX in the US. We definitely don't have the 9-speaker setup in Canada (nor the FWD version of the RX), and I don't recall the base 9-spk setup on the release 2016 in the states either. My apologies.

The difference is noticable in the base vs the ML package. WE have the ML package for our Rx 450h.
Within the ML there’s a difference between the one on a sedan vs a CUV/SUV
i feel like my GS 350 ML sounds better than the RX 450h ML set up.

i also feel like my JBL synthesis on my 14 Land Cruiser sounds better than my 16 RX 450h.
