Odd Text Msg Problem 2016 RX350
Ok so Ive read through a bunch of threads and while there are lots of things about dealing with text/sms issues, I have one that I haven't seen anywhere else yet. And while my problem surely will get a lot of funny remarks I assure you it's real and am in search of an answer/resolution.
about 2 days ago my RX stopped showing text notifications ONLY FROM MY WIFE (yes I know some people might think its desirable lol). Notifications and viewing/read features are working fine FROM EVERYONE ELSE. Yes my phone is receiving the texts.
No settings were changed on the car, on my phone or on her phone. Her texts are coming through normal to my phone.This pretty much really has me stymied. Considering the majority of messages I get are from her more than anyone else this is a problem for me. without it coming up I cant send her back a quick reply that I'm driving etc (obviously because its not coming up).
Vehicle- 2016 RX350
My phone- Google pixel 2 XL
Her phone- Samsung S9

Ahhh life is here! Yardie when she sends me a private text my phone receives it normal (tone and vibe) but the RX gets nothing..... Yet if she replies in a GROUP CHAT it comes up in the RX.

Jim thanks for the response. She does and always has had a unique notification/ring tone- As do the rest of my immediate family so I know whether I need to look at them right away as opposed to work/friends. Even with the unique ring/text notification tones the rest of my family members are working fine. Funny you mentioned it but since that was the ONLY thing different it was the first thing I tried Thanks for the input, any other brainstorming is appreciated.

Maybe delete her contact info on the car and phone, re-enter it on the phone while the car is off, let it re-download the contacts to the car???

OK Jim odd things continue... just a little while ago as I was driving I noticed my Bluetooth was constantly disconnecting/reconnecting. when I got home I went on an all out assault lol. I retraced all my previous steps of unpairing re-pairing etc...still intermittent connection. I then deleted the lexus rx fom my phone, deleted my phone from the lexus AND all the other phones of family members in the lexus and started from scratch. repaired the google pixel 2 XL, set the messaging options AGAIN in the menu's and once done and again accepted on my phone the option for the lexus RX to allow it to unlock my device for access (smartlock feature). Wife called my phone- it WORKED. Wife texted my phone, IT WORKED (both for NOW- lets see what tomorrow brings).
We seem to think alike because my next step before this happened was to try deleting her and re-entering her in my googgle gmail contacts. I HOPE this is the end of this very WEIRD thing.

Well this has been frustrating. It wasn't working, then it was and now it isn't again. Maybe I was just destined to ignore my wife's texts? I'm pretty much about to just give up on this.
