Default Service from Originating Dealer?

New to the Lexus RX forum and have a newbie question for folks. Do you have to take your new vehicle for your complimentary first and second scheduled maintenance services to your originating dealer where it was purchased? The reason I ask is because the dealer set up an appointment schedule 6 month out the same day I picked up the vehicle. While it was nice of them to do that, the dealer is 30 miles away vs. one that is across town. Thanks.

I do, and mine is 90 miles away. They are an excellent dealer, and are worth the drive.

You can go to any Lexus dealer and they will happily perform the 5,000 and 10,000 mile services.

That's what I was told by my dealer, because we are snowbirds going from NY to FL in the winter.

Thanks for confirming as I assume that, I guess I'll have to make the appointment when the times come.

Nope, you don't have to go to the dealer where you purchased the car from.
My sales guy booked the first service for me too, but I might go somewhere else.
Their coffee sucks lol.

Really though.
The dealership who failed to get my business, they had pops/sodas and a great espresso machine that uses real espresso and milk.
The dealer I bought the car from, a beautiful dealership but their coffee machine lacks. Some kinda capsuled one that uses powder milk.
I gave it a try and it was the worst. Similar to Dolce Gusto machine or whatever.

Take it to any dealer you want.

My dealer has free free washes anytime you drive by and they will cook you an omelet breakfast with excellent grits and coffee while you wait.

Default Can you go to any Lexus dealer for the first complimentary service?

Hi, quick question. The dealer that we bought the new RX from is about 1 hour away. There are some that are so much closer to home. For the first free 10k service, can I take it to any dealer or do I have to take it to the place of purchase? And if I need warranty service or car programming service, I can choose any dealer as well. Right? In the past I've always done service at the dealer where we bought our lexus cars.
Thanks.
