Musty odor from Air conditioner
It's not unique to the RX. Pretty much all cars can have this if the conditions are right. Dealers will spray a bleach-like compound into the air circulation system in newer cars but pretty much you're on your own for older vehicles (certainly out of warranty vehicles).

I have had good results with turning on the air with blower on low and shooting about 5-10seconds worth of Lysol spray into the intake between the back of the hood and windshield. Did it a couple of times and the odor was gone.

Best way to prevent this odor smell is to shut the AC compressor off and just let the fan run a few minutes before shutting down the car. This way it will clear/flush the system out and not let it linger and build up the musty smell. I normally shut the AC down just before getting to my destination so I don't have to wait before shutting the car off. Did this for years in all my previous cars and the smell is kept at a minimal to none existing.
