I have a 2016 RX 350 and I have a question about the tailgate. So when the tailgate is open, most times when I press the close button twice, the tailgate will close and all of the doors will lock. About 1 in 4 times, when I hit the close button twice, I will hear 2 quick beeps and the tailgate will not close and the doors won't lock. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong when that happens?

 

If you hit the button twice in a row rapidly then the hatch closes And doors will lock.If you hit it a bit slower than it will just readjust the hatch open position.

 

it's weird. you need to hit it twice fast but not too fast but not too slow. I always get it. My wife NEVER gets it. She's tried 10 times in a row and couldn't get it to close.

 

My girlfriend can't master the double button press either. We tried about 5 times and both gave up.

It works for me everytime.

 

Strange. Has worked for me every time, too.

 

When I drive my father's RX, it has worked every time and I wish I had it on my GS. I think you need to have the keyfob close to the rear of the car in order for it to work.
